Rained Out!

It is a rare occurrence to get rain at Spring Mountain.  Today was one of those rare days.  Although I have the gear to work in the wet, I decided to cut loose before my day even started.  No one is going to be in the mood to look at pictures on a day like this.  From my experience in the past, the normal response is “I’m not going fast today because of the rain.  I’ll wait until tomorrow”.  Now that I’m older and wiser, I don’t even bother on days like this.

What is funny is that when I show up tomorrow, the first thing folks ask me is if I was out shooting yesterday.  It would have been cool to see rain shots.  I firmly believe that this response is natural for people to say even though they have no intention of getting rain pictures.  People expect variety, even if that variety is not what they want.  Even if they already know they don’t want it, folks want the opportunity to confirm they don’t want it.  Just like the elections, folks value their right to choose.  They want a clear winner and a clear loser.  I just have to come up with something to say tomorrow.
